Special liturgy services were held at all Georgian this day of August 2, 2020.The Annunciation is one of the most important days in the Christian religious calendar.

The Head of the Georgian church Patriarch Ilia II led a service at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in capital Tbilisi. Orthodox churches around Georgia and believers celebrated the holy day of Annunciation that is a Christian celebration of the announcement by the angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary that she would conceive and be the mother of Jesus, the Son of God.

It is quite common among many Orthodox Christians to celebrate the feast day of the saint after whom they were named. In English this is called one’s “Name Day” or “Patronal Feast Day.” The Russian term for this would translate as “Angel Day.” When greeting someone on their Name Day one would say, “S Dnyom Angelom,” which literally translated means “With the Day of the Angel.”

The liturgy was attended by almost all the members of the holy synod, there was officially announced before the whole parish the Archdeacon Demetre stated: "Now a word of greeting from the Head of the Royal House of Georgia, HRH Prince Nugzar Bagrationi-Gruzinski". After that Prince Nugzar gave his wonderful speech and then bestowed upon HH the Patriarch the Royal Order of King Erekle the Second.This ceremony was broadcasted by TV.

Following a speech delivered by the President of the Georgian Parliament, the official broadcaster of the Georgian Patriarchy made the following announcement: “the Head of the Royal House of Georgia, HRH Prince Nugzar Bagrationi-Gruzinski bestowed upon His Holiness the Patriarch of Georgia the Royal Order of King Erekle II”.

After the church ceremony Crown Prince together with the chancellor of King Erekle's Order Mr. Giorgi Shiukashvili was attending an event in the Patriarchy where the Crown Prince together with the Patriarch Ilia II were sitting at the head of the solemn table.

"Your Holiness! On behalf of the Royal Family of Georgia, with love in Christ and with utmost respect, we congratulate you on this day! Your Holiness: as you aware, this year we celebrate the 300th anniversary of our great-great grandfather, the great Georgian King Erekle II. The Royal Family has established the Order of King Erekle II, and we know how much You, Your Holiness, have particular respect to this great King, Moreover, I also know how much your blessed parents loved him, so much that they named you after him.

Therefore, today, for the first time, we wish to bestow this Order upon You, the Order which was created by the great support of an honourable gentleman and patriot Giorgi Shiukashvili. We again congratulate You for this honour!”

The Royal family of Georgia was invited as an honorary guest at this scientific conference which was organized by Saint Andrew the First-Called Georgian University of the Patriarchate of Georgia.

The chairman of this conference were: Archbishop of Manglisi Anania Japaridze (doctor of historic sciences - above picture left), Mr. Giorgi Andriadze (Doctor of Theology) and Professor Niko Javakhishvili (I.Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University).

The conference was dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, as well as the Day of Remembrance of St. Andrew the First-Called and the Laz Saints. Mariamoba, known as the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is celebrated as a religious holiday in Georgia. This day commemorates the

assumption of the Blessed Virgin into heaven. All churches throughout Georgia hold special ceremonies and religious services in retaliation to this

day.

12 May – Saint Andrew the First-Called Day

May 12th marks the day that the Apostle Andrew first arrived in Georgia, in what is the present-day Ajara region. St. Andrew was the first of the apostles of Jesus Christ and is considered the first preacher of the Christian faith in Georgia who was told to come to this region by the Virgin Mary. The Orthodox Church regards him as the founder of the Georgian church. Most of the guests and participants of this event were scientists, members of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences. (February 2021 marks the 80th anniversary of the founding of the National Academy of Sciences).

OFFICIAL STATEMENT BY 159 MEMBERS OF DYNASTIC UNION “HOUSE OF BAGRATIONS” CONDEMN THE SLANDER CAMPAIGN BY DAVID MUKHRANELI´S LAWYER, Levan Chkheidze.

 

Today in one of the most readable newspapers "Akhali Taoba" (New Generation) was released the official statement signed by 159 members of the Dynastic Union "House of Bagrations" and 17 scholars and public figures. The subscribers officially condemn the slander campaign that begun by the lawyer of David Mukhraneli, Levan Chkheidze, and call such behavior shameful.

According to this statement, all agree that the only legitimate representative of the Georgian royal family is Bagrationi Gruzinski line. Davit Bagrationi Mukhrani is accused of self-proclaiming, trading in royal titles, the looting of Georgian state or society and discrediting the real royal family.

 

The joint statement is signed by the representatives of all branches of Bagrationi, including the representatives of Bagration of Mukhrani. Also signed by scientists of history: Academic David Muskhelishvili, Academic Roin Metreveli, Prof. George Otmezisuri, Professor Givi Ghambashidze, Professor Rafael Chikovani and others (a total of 180 people).

The Georgia Royal familiy attended the Ballo Dei 100 e non piu 100 on the 14th of April 2018 in the beautiful city of Casale Monferrato, in Northern Italy. Princes Anna also attended the ball last year. This year she gave the key note speech introducing her father, the current Head of the Royal House of Georgia who was invited to become an honorary member of "The Historical families of Europe"n "The Historical families of Italy" and received the title of Honorary Member of the Circolo dei Cento and no more than one hundred, three organizations which are devoted to promoting the historical importances of families which have contributed to European history.

 

HRH Princess Anna, as well, congratulated the President of Historical Families of Italy His Exellency Duke de Vargas Machuca, the President of Historical Families of Europe His Royal Imperial Highness Archduke Josef Karl of Habsburg Lorraine, Her Royal Imperial Highness Archduchess Monika of Habsburg Lorena Duchess of Santanelo and His Serene Highness Prince don Maurizio Gonzaga del Vodice.

 

Princess Anna further congratulated- Dr. Pier Felice degli Uberti, the President of the International Genealogy Academy, for the important work he does in the world, and he also wants the scholars of Georgia to be admitted to the most important academy of the world of genealogy.

For this special event, Prince Nugzar decided to wear his traditional suit “Chokha” in analogue of Chokha that King Erekle II, his direct ancestor, in 1763 two separated kingdoms of Kartli and Kakheti had been united thus becoming “KING OF THE UNITED GEORGIA KINGDOM”. Prince Nugzar was wearing two breast stars - the St. King David the Psalmist and another the Royal Order of the Crown of the Georgian Kingdom including its Collar.

 

Before the collapse of the Soviet Union the Royal Family of Georgia lived inside the iron curtain. The fact of being isolated from the European civilization unfortunately allowed some other distant Non-royal members of the Dynasty to act as pretenders. Of course, if the country was not governed by a communist regime, these would not have been allowed to do so.

 

 

H.R.H Princess Anna was welcomed by Moroccan´s government officially as Royal Princess of Georgia. Princess Anna, among some first Ladies of other countries, was met at the ramp of airplane in Casablanca by Interior Minister Mr. Abdelouafi Laftit and the chief of protocol. Later she was tranferred to Dakhla (the capital of the Moroccan administrative region) where she was accommodated at a luxury cruise Italian ship Grandi Navi Veloci (GNV)´s cabin.

 

At Dakhla Princess Anna met Mr. Nasser Bourita whom His Majesty King Mohammed VI appointed on April 5, 2017 as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

 

Princess Anna met with authorities of other countries; Presidents, Prime Ministers and Monarchs, it seemed they all knew who she was and treated her with the highest reverence expected for a Monarch.

 

Some of the honored guess were Her Imperial and Royal Highness Camilla Habsburg-Lothringen, Archduchess of Austria and Princess of Tuscany , H.R.H. The official visit of H.R.H. Princess Ana Bagration- Gruzinsky took place to Spain from 5th till 7 th of July. In the framework of her visit Her Royal Highness met Spanish nobility, business and political elite. The Jerusalem Pilgrim's Cross (Signum Sacri Itineris Hierosolymitani) is an honour awarded by the Pope as a recognition of merit to pilgrims to the Holy Land

HRH Pilgrim Prince Nugzar Bagrationi-Gruzinski, Singular Heir to the Throne of the Royal House of Georgia, received the Jerusalem Pilgrim's Gold Cross, (i.e., Signum Sacri Itineris Hierosolymitani), which is an honor awarded to selected pilgrims to the Holy Land by the Pope of Rome in recognition of meritorious works and/or service. The medal can only be conferred at the office of the Custody of the Holy Land in Jerusalem, (i.e., the Minister Provincial of the Order of Friars Minor in the Middle East). The Custos presents it to deserving pilgrims in the name of the Sovereign and Pontiff of the Vatican City State.

Since 1973, the Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land has sponsored the Christian Information Centre in Jerusalem, opposite the Tower of David near Jaffa Gate. The aim is to provide information on Christianity and on the Holy Land. This important, wide-ranging initiative is designed to offer a service that is indispensable in a city like Jerusalem, for those wishing to learn as much as possible about Christianity in the Holy Land and the Holy Land in relation to Christianity.

The city of Jerusalem is significant in a number of religious traditions, including the Abrahamic religions Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, which consider it a holy city. Some of the most sacred places for each of these religions are found in Jerusalem and the one shared between all three is the Temple Mount.

It was on 13th September 2016 when the Royal family of Georgia, held in warm and friendly atmosphere, visited the Patriarch. HRH Crown Prince noted an important role of His Beatitude in Christianity as whole and bestowed upon him the highest Dynastic Order of St. King David the Psalmist what was received with much gratitude by the Patriarch of Jerusalem. In his part His Beatitude gifted the royal family with holy icons, souvenirs and blessed the royal family.

His Beatitude Theophilos III, Is the current Patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Jerusalem. He is styled "Patriarch of the Holy City of Jerusalem and all Palestine and Israel. Theophilos (also spelled Theofilos or Theophilus) was elected by the Holy Synod of Jerusalem as the 141st primate of the Orthodox Church of Jerusalem on 22 August 2005, confirmed by the Eastern Orthodox synod of Constantinople.
